  At last It’s here! Truphone

Well we cannot wait forever for Skype to get their acts together to produce a program that will enable us to call free for our current phones. Truphone will enable users to use iPod Touch, iPhone, Nokia and BlackBerry phones to make free calls to each other via the Truphone program similar to the way skype works. You may use it to call internationally but we are in BAD times so this would be a paid extra. :-( The reason for this program is simple you do not have to modify you phone i.e. there are ways to have Skype and other call programs on your phone but this will VOID your warranty and is illegal. Truphone is a program that you simply install and you can download it from Apple itself. Click Here

On-Demand TV

Plans for a new service that delivers on-demand TV over broadband networks could lead to people going over their download limits. ISP’s must make it clearer to customers when they exceed their download limits, as some ISP’s charge 75p or more for each gigabyte they download above their monthly limit so costs could quickly escalate.
The venture between the BBC, ITV and BT would see on demand programming delivered via a next generation set-top box, similar to Freeview box. It could be operaion by early 2010 and will broadcast radio, TV, movies and web content as well as iPlayer and the ITV player.

  Bonus from Inland Revenue

Goods bought online from non-EU websites under the value of £105 will no longer be subject to customs duty from 1 December. Some websites don't always make clear there is duty to pay, while others may undervalue your goods to try and avoid paying charges. If the goods are found to be wrongly declared, they may be seized and you maybe penalized.

HMRC has launched a podcast explaining the changes, which can be downloaded from its website.
